Usability Testing

After nearly a decade of leadership in the field of nonprofit technology, we have both seen and made our share of mistakes. Many of those mistakes could have been prevented with Communication Centered Planning. Most of the rest (including some of our own ventures into software development) could have been prevented with Usability Testing.

Usability Testing is a controlled observation process that learns from how users interact with a web site, a process or procedure, or a piece of software. You learn what works and what doesn't, what users are looking for and what their natural actions are. You learn where the greatest return on investment in improvements are. It's a very powerful technique.

One of the key requirements for successful usability tests is smart design of user scenarios and tasks. This is where our firm's deep background in the nonprofit sector becomes so valuable. As a result, the lessons to be learned from our testing processes will be highly relevant to the people you are trying to serve.
